This Launcher DST Fairway Wood is designed to be light and long. In fact the Mitsubishi Diamana Red shaft is 43-1/2 inches and weighs 64 grams. The clubhead is also very light with its 0.55-millimeter crown. The clubface is oversized and plasma-welded.
The 3-wood comes in three lofts: 13, 15, and 17 degrees. I would recommend the 17-degree loft. The ball will jump off the clubface and get up in a hurry. The club is very forgiving with an enormous MOI. This is one of the biggest faces I've seen on a 3-wood.
I recommend this fairway wood for all levels of golfers. The lower handicapper will appreciate the lightness, and even though the clubface is large, it still has some workability. And the high handicapper will appreciate the forgiveness and the extra distance you get on miss hits.
If you are looking for a design that is a little bit smaller and sleeker, take a look at the Titleist 909 F3 Fairway Wood. It's a beautiful small head with lots of feel and playability. However, if you are a high handicapper, stick with this forgiving Cleveland Launcher.
