I'm sure you and your golf buddies have had this argument a few times: "Who is the best golfer ever?" Or "Who are the greatest golfers of all time?" "If all the greats could play together in their prime, who would come out ahead, and how much cash would the greats of yesterday be raking in today's dollars?" These are just some of the questions tackled in this enormously informative book.
Eighteen top golf writers engage in this discussion, each one writing about a specific player. Golf Magazine's James Dodson gives us an insight on Sam Snead in "Southern hillbilly vernacular." A good friend of Jack Nicklaus, sportswriter Kaye Kessler lets us in on some inside stuff about the Golden Bear. Jaime Diaz, a senior writer for Golf Digest, gives a thorough portrayal of the back-breaking, hand-bleeding perfectionist Ben Hogan. And journalist Tom Auclair has the luxury of tackling the superstar that is Tiger Woods. These are just a few of the eighteen that are discussed in the book.
This is a fantastic golf book that should be on the coffee table of any self-respecting golf addict. It is very entertaining and easy read, as the greatest golf writers write original essays on the world's greatest golfers.
